what a little gem , home from home for anyone who loves a few drinks in a lovely pub reminiscent of a typical country pub in the sticks . Everything you would expect from the oldest pub in Weymouth . lovely old decor , beautifully presented, warm cosy and well attended for that reason . very cheerful, happy to serve staff . could not ask for more . food great with a wide choice of beers . silly not to pop in whilst on holiday.

Absolutely disagree with the bad press, me and my wife visit Weymouth all the time and we always visit the black dog. Never once had a bad experience, great food, great beer, great atmosphere, lovely staff, clean pub highly recommend. Don’t believe everything you read just go in and try it yourself, trust me.

Went into the black dog with our two kids and were told not to stand near the bar whilst waiting for a table! There was no where else to stand and basically got told to leave because we have kids! Absolutely shocking customer service!! All this whilst it was pouring down with rain outside too! Not friendly and incredibly rude!! Coming from hospitality background my staff and team would never have done this to any customer!

Just visited from a cruise ship and happened to find the Black Dog. The place was incredible and the history goes back to the 1500s. Just for that, they deserve 5🌟. I wish I could have spent the entire day there. Best of lunch and 500 more year's.

A very old pub close to Weymouth Beach with a fascinating history. The beer served was in first-class condition ( I had Timothy Taylor Landlord) and there was a good selection of choices to be had. We were very impressed and can recommend The Black Dog without any hesitation whatsoever.
